Funding
AMIGOS is funded entirely by contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations. With the help of local chapter leaders or under the direction of the Correspondent Volunteer Administrators in the International Office, the volunteers and their families raise funds which amount to approximately 80% of the annual budget. The remainder, or about 20% of the annual budget, is provided through fundraising by the External Relations staff in the International Office.
Financial assistance is available from the International Office and from many chapters. Each veteran volunteer returning to Latin America receives a discount from the International Office.
AMIGOS is recognized as an educational/service organization under Section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code and is eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions. Audited financial reports prepared by Mir, Fox & Rodriguez, P.C. are available upon request.
