Financial Assistance

 

The following volunteer discounts may be available through the International Office.

                       

I. International Office Financial Assistance:

The purpose of the financial assistance is to provide funding for volunteers with extenuating financial circumstances and to supplement any assistance provided by a local chapter.  Awards are usually no more than $500.  Qualifications are:

1. A determination to participate in the AMIGOS program
2. Proven interest in leadership development and service   
3. Acceptable level of Spanish/Portuguese proficiency
4. Gross family income of $55,000 or less (Incomes greater than $55,000 may be considered if there are extenuating financial circumstances that would prevent participation in the AMIGOS program without financial assistance.)
5. Submission of the most recent IRS Tax Return verifying the gross family income

 

II. AMIGOS Veteran Discounts:

The purpose of this discount is to reward veteran volunteers for the experience they bring to the program.  A $350 Veteran Discount is automatically awarded to returning volunteers by the International Office.  No application is necessary.   Veterans in chapters should also receive additional discounts from their chapter.  The Veteran Discount may be supplemented with an International Office Financial Assistance Award.

 

Financial Assistance applications are available upon request through your chapter.  Contact your chapter president if interested.  ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED.

 

III.  Chapter Financial Assistance:

The Santa Clara Valley Chapter will make every effort to match any financial assistance offered by the International Office of Amigos.
