Welcome to the Santa Clara Valley Chapter of Amigos de las Américas (AMIGOS). We are excited to be celebrating the 5th decade of youth empowerment!
Each year, our exciting and challenging program provides unique experiences to student volunteers from the Santa Clara Valley area. Beginning each October, we select and train a number of top high school and college students to travel to Latin America during the following summer.
This program creates opportunities for these young people to excel in leadership roles promoting public health, education and community development. These dynamic volunteers reach across cultural barriers, advance various programs, and foster multi-cultural understanding throughout the Americas.
This past Summer we fielded 20 volunteers working on community service projects in various different Latin American countries.
